Artistic Asana can be defined as the act of mindfully creating art with ones yoga practice.
The act of yoga is sheer poetry of the body. Expressing that in which our souls can say and our words will never encompass. To practice yoga is a form of art. Instead of thinking of yourself as the artist, conside yourself the brush strokes...the universe ( your higher self) is the true creator and spectator.
Artists and yogis have have a lot in common. We are humans who have felt enough pain that we must transmute our struggle into beautiful art or healing yoga. We feel that the very least we could do with our pain is use our experience to ease the suffering of others.
Imagine the potential of growth, health and positive energy that exists in the cultivation of a compassionate community. Let us come together with the intention to connect and express. Through healing ourselves, we heal others.
If you feel like you have a message for the world...
If you have suffered more than most....
If you found strength in yoga or art than this is for you.
Artists, yogis, creators, believers....let this be your call to action! Use your practice to ease suffering.
However you express and create, share your posts on Instagram using the hashtag #ArtisticAsana
Let this hashtag serve as a community safe place to find inspiration and to heal. I will be hosting a little giveaway next month for all of my cosmic darlings who tag @theyogihart and #artisticasana in their posts.
This is something I feel compelled to do-for the sheer sake of sharing light, giving love and cultivating health. Medicine comes in many forms- music, art, adventure, expression....let the world know how you connect with your inner light. Share power and spread joy.
I can't wait to see your #ArtisticAsana !
