10/19/2017 0 Comments All About EmyMISC. I was recently tagged in an Instagram post to share 10 facts about myself! I figured this would be a great opportunity to answer some commonly asked questions that you guys have had for me! Q: How long have you been practicing yoga? I've been practicing yoga ever since I was 12 years old and attended a Buddhist/Hindu yoga retreat with a friend where we spent a week eating vegan, doing yoga every morning and ending each day with meditation. I have also been dancing since I was 3 and practicing martial arts (mostly tae-kwon-doe) since I was 7. The spiritual aspects of physical discipline have been with me from a very small age. Q: How long have you been modeling?Since I was 13! I begged my mom to let me sign with an agency but it wasn't until a friend of mine and I set up a photoshoot in her basement and took "portfolio" pictures on her moms digital camera that I had my mom convinced. I immediately hopped into making my photos into graphics online and "Site Modeling" I signed with an agency in Denver and stayed with them throughout my teens. I've done work for Lucky Jeans, Hollister and Target. In college, I started representing myself and that's where my career took an artistic turn. Working with Free People was definitely a dream come true for me. Modeling is truly a lifelong passion for me...in fact I have a shoot for BootayBag later today! (Stay tuned for the upcoming look book!) Q: What was growing up like for you?Always an adventure! Between my 3 older brothers, my countless cousins, and my neighborhood friends...I could always count on someone to be creative with me. We loved exploring the open space and parks, making movies and of course...coloring. I guess not too much has changed. I now live within 20 minutes of all 3 of my brothers and 5 away from my parents. Home is the place you come back to time and time again, the place you feel safe. For me that's close to my family. Q: Where are your astrological houses? This never comes as a surprise- born on August 13 I am dead middle of Leo season! Just like most Leo's, I'm a natural born leader and performer. I love to get creative and express myself through art. Most Leo's are very in tune with their inner divinity and show this with exceptional self love and confidence. Also like a Leo- I'm a child at heart now and forever, there's always time for play! My moon sign in Aquarius. This gives me my overwhelming urge to heal others through connection and love. The Leo/Aquarius house combo is common among great performers. And to top it off- my rising is in Gemini so if there were any doubts on my need to perform, Gemini solidifies my love for the spotlight. As a confident Leo, I know I have the ability to connect and heal (like an Aquarius) through the avenue of performance and self expression(thank you Gemini.) Q: What is your diet like?I am a vegan! I try to eat organic as much as possible. Most of my days begin with organic potatoes, tomatoes and other veggies mixed into a breakfast burrito with avocado on top. Usually with coffee or orange juice. Second breakfast is usually a spinach and fruit smoothie. My favorite combo is spinach, banana, orange juice, coconut milk and apple mixed with chia and flax seeds. Yum! Salad is just about my favorite thing in the world and I often make meals out of veggies but I also claim "Some food is good for the body, some food is good for the soul."I have no problem giving into my sweet tooth from time to time! Q: Do you teach yoga? You know it!!! I teach private yoga sessions to friends and referred clients in the Denver area! I also do private yoga sessions online with clients all over the country. For those looking for less personalized practices, I have a Virtual Yoga Studio where I offer free tutorials for all levels! If you are interested in setting up a yoga session with me--shoot me an email at helloyogihart@gmail.com Q: Are you dating?Nope! My 2017 resolution included a promise to myself "no boyfriends." I wanted to spend this year practicing self love and really giving myself the opportunity to fully heal from my past relationships. This year I have taken myself out to candle lit dinners, on trips, and to the park. My time with myself has been the most fulfilling, romantic, wonderful and enlightening relationship I've ever experienced. It feels good to want to be a better person because I love myself! I think love will find me when I'm ready- but until then, I am enjoying each and every moment of the self love journey! And honestly- if I had a boyfriend I wouldn't be able to wake up at 3am and drive to Moab on a whim, I wouldn't be able to go out for cocktails with my photographers after a shoot and I wouldn't be able to dance with strangers and kiss cute boys I met in the VIP section at Global...I am 25 years old and my life is all about adventure, learning, and working on my business! Q: Speaking of business...What do you do?I get this question a lot! Basically- I'm a freelanse creative, I specialize in social media marketing- doing everything from PR consultations and helping entrepreneurs learn how to market themselves to running instagram accounts where I take the photos, write the captions and market entirely. ( By the way, if you're looking for an awesome coffee inspiration account @coffeemountaincafe is the tops! )This being said-- I also market myself as a brand representative! I work with mostly yoga/health and wellness companies to genuinely promote quality products and clothing! I am hired either for a look book or two or as a contracted Brand Ambassador. This career evolved from years of modeling, blogging, photographing, promoting and then putting it all together. .What didn't exist as a career 10 years ago is now a "dream job" as I've been told many times. Well! It went from my dream to my job so I guess they're right! Q: What are your favorites? Color: Pastel Pink & Magenta Number: 13 (duh) Animal: Cat/Lion Season: Autumn Food: Sesame Tofu or Brussel Sprouts Guily Pleasure: Chocolate Shop: Free People, Good Will, all my yoga brands! Part about the job: Traveling! I might end up moving into an art director position for a firm and I could not be more excited! You can expect to see a lot more cutting edge creative work and some amazing collaborations ahead! Thanks so much for taking the time to learn a little bit more about yours truly! Until next time my cosmic darlings!
