This weekend, we decided to go on an adventure.
Last week, I was able to meet one of my friends from Instagram and make an instant connection! What started out as a dinner at Native Foods turned into a conversation about life that lasted until after closing, oops! Clearly we have a lot to connect and talk about so we hung out the next day, then the next day and then decided that it was going to be a perfect weekend for a little mountain daytrip. Off to Breck!
On Saturday morning, we met at my place and then piled into my car to make our way to the mountains. (Of course not without stopping by Coffee Mountain to visit Eliza)
With our hazelnut and hemp milk chais in hand, we left the city for the day and traded the skyscrapers for mountain sides.
Even though it was pretty chilly, it was a beautiful day!!! I am always filled with so much gratitude every time I find myself in a place where I can admire Mother Nature in such a way. We left a sunny city to enter the snowy mountain tops and it never ceases to amaze me how beautifully unique Breckenridge is. It is a way different vibe than the hustling, bustling Mile High City ....but at 9600 feet above sea level and just over an hour outside of Denver
...it's the perfect place to end up on any given day off.
We took our photos just outside of Breck at Lake Dillion which is in my opinion one of the most beautiful spots to explore in Colorado...One of many too be fair. We really are blessed to live here.
Since I set up the shoot with my tripod. We only had 10 seconds to get into each pose. My entire portfolio is a result of setting up my tripod, getting my settings perfect, hitting the button and running away to do a pose I can nail in the drop of a hat. The asana doesn't always come out perfect- but it is the experience and the journey that I am trying to capture.
Never forget when looking through photos online that these shoots are not yoga...they are us modeling in yoga poses. Regardless, we worked up quite the appetite during our shoot and went to Piante Pizza in Breck for a vegan lunch afterwards!
We shared the Veggie supreme and the Buffalo pizza! We also had to try an order of vegan jalapeño popppers to go. Everything was divine! It's hard to come by good pizza that is totally dairy, meat & cruelty free and Piante nailed it!
10/10 would recommend.
A lovely weekend getaway with beautiful Gabby to remind me of lol the reasons I love Colorado and the mountains. May your week be filled with joy, laughter and adventure!
